(Columbus, OH) - After launching his candidacy for DNC Vice-Chair last week, Assembly Member Michael Blake visited Democrats in Indianapolis, IN and Columbus, OH on Saturday to share how he will work to Build Our Bench, Strengthen Our Party, and Embrace Our Future.
Highlighting his campaign theme of “Leadership for Tomorrow,” Blake laid out his plans and qualifications to attendees at the Indiana Democratic Party State Central Executive Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party's DNC Candidate Forum.
Blake, who is a New York State Assembly Member, managed multiple state legislative campaigns to victory which helped flip the Michigan legislature to Democratic control.
In Indiana, he made clear that he is proud to #StandWithChuck against Donald Trump's unacceptable behavior toward the hardworking men and women of 1999 United Steelworkers. In Ohio, Michael outlined his qualifications and discussed his goals as a DNC Vice-Chair with a standing-room only Candidate Forum in Columbus. After sharing his specific plans and answering questions, Blake visited with attendees and DNC members at the Ohio Democratic Party Holiday Party.
Michael Blake knows it is critical for Democrats to begin winning local races so that Democrats continue to have a seat at the table. He is running for Vice-Chair to focus on recruiting local Democratic candidates and winning those elections, strengthening our party's efforts on training on the county, state and national levels and embracing our diversity with a continual focus on constituency vote programs, especially among communities of color, millennials and women.
